Michael Aukofer completed his DMA course work at the University of Kentucky in the Spring of 2004. While at the University of Kentucky, Michael was awarded the full teaching assistantship and in 2004 was the recipient of UK's Academic Excellence Scholarship for his residency. Michael has toured and recorded with Rich Mullins, Mitch McVicker, Alathea, The Ragamuffin Band, and many others. In addition to carrying on the tradition of the hammered dulcimer in Contemporary Christian Music, made famous by his departed friend Rich.  Michael has also kept busy producing, recording, song writing, teaching and composing.  Michael is currently living and working in the Chicago area as an arranger and musical director.
